- Examining the role of coping and stress in infertility and reproductive losses. Although many people believe stress causes infertility and miscarriage, research does not support this. One research goal is to break down the myths associated with infertility and miscarriage.
- Sexual harassment: As a forensic psychological expert in sexual harassment, Lawson is frequently retained to testify in trials with allegations of sexual harassment. Her research on sexual harassment also focuses on coping and psychological distress among those who experience sexual harassment with the goal of breaking down the myths associated with how people respond to/cope with harassment.
