It’s a big week, with not only the peak of spooky season but also Election Day. It’s time to get out your costume, get out the vote and get these events on your calendar this week.

Fabulous fall

Get into the autumnal sprit during Fall Fest, hosted by NU Dining. Taste fall treats, paint a pumpkin and more during the event.

Fall Fest begins at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, on the ground floor of Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston.

Grab a brush

Embrace your creative side with free drop-in Halloween art making at ARTica. Enjoy candy and paint a ceramic pumpkin bisque or canvas.

Drop in starting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in ARTica Studios, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston.

This party’s not dead

Come to the Women’s Center on Halloween for a spooky open house. Tarot readings, zombie face painting and raffle prizes will be on offer, and you can pick up harm reduction supplies for all your nights out. 

The open house begins at noon on Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Women’s Center, 2000 Sheridan Road, Evanston.

Election countdown

With just days until Nov. 5, data science and public policy and administration faculty will provide insight into the tools used to determine the impacts of this historic election during an online panel discussion. Topics will include the behavioral science of voting, polling trends and more.

Play to perfection

Field hockey takes on Ohio State on Friday in the team’s final regular season game. Come out to cheer on the ’Cats as they look to extend their perfect record before heading into the Big Ten Tournament.

The ’Cats play at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at Lakeside Field, 2311 N. Campus Drive, Evanston.

Bold brass

Take a break on Tuesday with the soundtrack of an Evening of Brass, directed by the Bienen School of Music’s Gail Williams.
