COVID-19 webinar April 3: Global emergence, epidemiology and response

Northwestern Medicine infectious disease and microbiology-immunology experts to present

Northwestern Medicine infectious disease and microbiology-immunology experts will discuss the latest COVID-19 data and trends during a webinar entitled “COVID-19: Global Emergence, Epidemiology and Response.” 

The hourlong webinar begins at noon (C.T.) Friday, April 3. Media are invited to attend and can remotely access the webinar at this link using password 1234. Please RSVP to Kristin Samuelson at ksamuelson@northwestern.edu.

There will be an opportunity for questions following the seminar via the chat feature. The seminar will be recorded for sharing.

The webinar is hosted by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s Institute for Global Health and is part of the institute’s “First Friday" seminar series. The webinar is co-sponsored by Northwestern’s Buffett Institute for Global Affairs

Webinar presenters include:

Dr. Chad Achenbach, associate professor of infectious diseases and preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Northwestern Medicine physician 

Karla Satchell, professor of microbiology-immunology at Feinberg and a member of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Satchell is currently researching new drug targets for COVID-19

Dr. Michael Ison, professor of infectious diseases and surgery (organ transplantation) at Feinberg, a member of the Lurie Cancer Center and a Northwestern Medicine physician.
