Career

Nisbet is the Owen L. Coon Professor of Policy Analysis & Communication and the founding director of the Center for Communication & Public Policy in the School of Communication at Northwestern University. He is a co-principal investigator of the Comparative National Elections Project (CNEP), which was awarded the "Best Dataset" in political science in 2022 by the American Political Science Association. He has led the annual CNEP U.S. election survey since 2012 and other major election survey projects in Ukraine, Serbia, Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Iran. His research has been supported by multiple grants from the National Science Foundation, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the U.S. Department of State.
