It’s almost Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, and there’s a packed lineup of special events, including the football game against Ball State at the new Ryan Field and an ice cream social celebrating the University’s 175th anniversary. Here’s a few more events to put on your calendar this week. As always, all are welcome!
No place like home
Attend the opening reception for “The Names We Give to Home,” featuring the works of Lelia Byron. This exhibition grew out of conversations with residents of Springfield, Ohio, about the topic of “home.” The resulting paintings function as visual narratives showing how participants understand it as something continually created through relationships, memory, care and collective action.
The reception runs from 6–8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Dittmar Memorial Gallery, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston. More info.
