A few days after being named president-elect, Mung Chiang returned to campus to cheer on Northwestern lacrosse and tour the new Ryan Field.

On Sunday, Chiang joined the crowd of more than 8,000 fans at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium as the Wildcats beat North Carolina to capture the ninth lacrosse title in program history.

Pat Ryan Jr. and Mark Jackson, Combe Family Vice President for Athletics and Recreation, escorted Chiang to share plans for the gameday experience and see progress throughout the new stadium.

“Every great institution has its own culture and distinct traditions, and I am looking forward to learning Northwestern’s,” Chiang said last week upon the news of his appointment. “Our purple is proudly unique, and there is no university quite like Northwestern. I am truly excited to join the Northwestern community.”
