Presidential Search Committee invites input from the Northwestern community

Feedback from upcoming virtual listening sessions will inform the search for the University’s 18th president

Northwestern’s Presidential Search Committee will host in January a series of virtual listening sessions to gather input from members of the University community.

The objective of the search committee is to learn from Northwestern community members about their perspectives on the qualities, experiences and leadership attributes they would find valuable in the next president. These perspectives will guide the committee as it develops the presidential position description and evaluates potential candidates.

Open listening sessions

Separate listening sessions are open this month to all students, faculty and staff. Registration is required to attend, and the search committee encourages broad attendance to gather input from as many voices as possible.

  • Faculty: Friday, Jan. 16, 10 a.m.
  • Undergraduate students: Monday, Jan. 26, 1 p.m.
  • Staff: Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2 p.m.
  • Graduate and professional students: Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1 p.m.

These listening sessions are among several ways community members can contribute to the search process.

The Presidential Search Committee, a 20-member group representing faculty, staff, students, trustees and alumni leadership, announced the launch of the search last month.
