If you’ve got little ones, get tickets for Imagine U’s production of “Doctor De Soto” this weekend or next. Here’s what else to put on your calendar this week. As always, all are welcome!

Worth a thousand words

How often do we take time to reflect on and share the stories behind the many photos we take? At a workshop in conjunction with the Dittmar Gallery’s exhibition “STREET,” share photos, craft collages, swap stories and hear from artist Ann Kogen about the stories behind her artworks.

The event is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, in Dittmar Gallery, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston. Register here.

Power of the pen

The Center for Native American and Indigenous Research presents a screening of “Bad Press.” The documentary follows Muscogee journalist Angel Ellis as she works to expose corruption after the Muscogee Nation begins censoring its free press, leading to a fight with far-reaching ramifications. A Q&A with co-director Rebecca Landsberry-Baker and Ellis will follow.

The screening is at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, in McCormick Theater, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston. RSVP here.

Concert for a cause

Enjoy a recital from the Bienen School’s Music Academy faculty to raise funds for its tuition support program. All proceeds will go toward allowing students of all income levels to enjoy piano, string and guitar lessons from the Bienen School’s community music division.

The recital is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, in Galvin Recital Hall, Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, 70 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston. Buy tickets.

’Cats vs. Buckeyes

Cheer on field hockey as the team looks to add another win to its near-perfect record in a matchup against Ohio State.

The ’Cats play at noon on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Lakeside Field, 2311 N. Campus Drive, Evanston.

Spooky smiles

Embrace the Halloween spirit by carving your own jack-o’-lantern with Artica. Pumpkins, carving supplies and an LED light are included.

Reservation windows start at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, on the South Lawn of Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston. RSVP here.
