Scientific revolutions, past and present
Nobel laureate Alain Aspect explores quantum revolutions in this year’s public Heilborn Lecture. Aspect will explore how the first quantum revolution, based on wave-particle duality, led to the society of information and communication, then examine the second quantum revolution, based on entanglement. Will its applications lead to a new societal revolution?
Aspect’s lecture is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, in room LR2, Technological Institute, 2145 Sheridan Road, Evanston.
Art and archives
Northwestern’s Dittmar Memorial Gallery teams up with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s SITE Galleries to curate a cross-institutional exhibition featuring current student work about archives. Featured artworks examine individual and collective memory and how these coalesce to create modern perspectives of today’s world.
The reception is at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 11, in Dittmar Memorial Gallery, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston.
Playing to perfection
Catch women’s lacrosse as the team looks to maintain its perfect Big 10 conference record by coming out victorious over Oregon.
The game is at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium, 2235 Campus Drive, Evanston. Buy tickets here.
Going greener
Come to the annual Earth Month fair to learn more about sustainability on campus and what you can do to reduce your environmental impact. The fair will feature student groups, campus partners, giveaways and a raffle.

Crossing oceans for education
