Local entrepreneurs, civic leaders, artists, educators, nonprofit leaders, Northwestern officials and Evanston residents all will be in attendance at this year’s Evanston MashUp.

The annual event takes place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. Hosted by the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, MashUp will be under a tent this year on Cohen Lawn outside Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, on the Northwestern campus.

“There’s really nothing else quite like the MashUp in Evanston,” said Dave Davis, assistant vice president of Northwestern’s office of Neighborhood and Community Relations.

“It’s one of those rare events that brings together business leaders, elected officials, artists, educators, civic and nonprofit leaders, neighbors, and Northwestern colleagues all under one tent,” he said. “Having MashUp return to campus this year makes the evening even more special and reinforces what this event has always been about: strengthening the bond between Northwestern and the City of Evanston, building relationships and also celebrating the community we share. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to campus for what should be a terrific evening.”

Each year, the tradition of connection and collaboration is a networking feast with local fare from Evanston restaurants and businesses and live entertainment.

Featured restaurants this year include Luna’s Pub and Grill, Egg Harbor Cafe, Hecky’s Barbecue, Peckish Pig, the Fat Shallot, Five and Dime, and many more.
