’Cats vs Hoosiers

Come out to Welsh-Ryan Arena to watch as women’s basketball plays Indiana in this week’s home game.

Lessons learned

School of Education and Social Policy’s Kirabo Jackson shares insights from his time on President Biden's Council of Economic Advisers during a conversation with Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences’ Andrew V. Papachristos.

Regal Adornment

Celebrate the opening of the Dittmar Gallery’s new exhibition of works by artist Chelsea Bighorn. “Regal Adornment” spotlights Bighorn’s love of earrings and contemporary powwow regalia, as well as her fond memories of attending powwows with her family.

The opening reception is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, in Dittmar Memorial Gallery, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston.

Beat the winter blues

Roller skate, sip hot cocoa, get a free screen-printed T-shirt and more during Winterfest, sponsored by Student Organizations & Activities.

Candlelight commemoration

This year’s MLK Commemoration events begin with a candlelight vigil featuring keynote speaker the Honorable Michael Blake ’04, a New York City mayoral candidate and former state representative.

The vigil is at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, at Alice Millar Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Road, Evanston.

Governing AI

Barry O’Sullivan examines artificial intelligence policymaking for the Institute for Policy Research’s winter colloquium series. The visiting professor in the McCormick School of Engineering will explore the European Union’s approach to AI ethics, as well as his experiences developing a code of conduct for military use of AI.

O’Sullivan will speak at noon on Monday, Jan. 13, at Chambers Hall, 600 Foster St., Evanston.
