For the third year in a row, Northwestern University is ranked as the ninth best university in the country by U.S. News & World Report, whose 2022 Best Colleges Rankings were released today.
It marks the fourth consecutive year Northwestern has ranked in the publication’s Top 10.
The ranking comes on the heels of the University once again breaking its own record for sponsored research. For the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, Northwestern was awarded $893.4 million in sponsored research funding, a 1% increase over the previous year.
The ranking also reflects the University’s strong commitment to its students and faculty. U.S News & World Report ranked Northwestern fifth in the faculty resources category, seventh in financial resources, eighth in student excellence and eleventh in graduation and retention.
