Nine faculty members appointed to named professorships

EVANSTON - The Northwestern University Board of Trustees has appointed nine faculty members to named professorships.

The faculty members and their appointments are:

Estella Alonso, a professor of pediatrics in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been appointed to the Sally Burnett Searle Professorship in Pediatrics and Transplantation.

Joseph M. Forbess, a professor of surgery in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been appointed to the Willis J. Potts, MD Professorship of Surgery.

Robert G. Kalb, a tenured professor and director of the Les Turner ALS Research and Patient Center at Northwestern Medicine, has been appointed as the Les Turner Professor.

Cristina Lafont, a professor of philosophy in Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed to the Harold H. and Virginia Anderson Professorship.

Jayesh Mehta and Seema Singhal, both professors of medicine in the division of hematology and oncology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, have been jointly appointed as the Chez Family Foundation Professor of Myeloma Research.

Nancy Qian, a professor of managerial economics and decision sciences in the Kellogg School of Management, has been appointed to the James O'Connor Professorship.

Emily Weiss, a professor of chemistry in Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed to the Mark and Nancy Ratner Professorship.

Christopher Wolverton, a professor in department of materials science and engineering in the McCormick School of Engineering, has been appointed to the Jerome B. Cohen Professorship in Engineering.
