Northwestern Announces Professorships

The Board of Trustees has nominated 10 faculty members to named professorships

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Northwestern University Board of Trustees has appointed 10 faculty members to named professorships.

The faculty members and their appointments are:

Jaehyuk Choi, assistant professor in dermatology and biochemistry and molecular genetics in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Ruth K. Freinkel, MD, Research Professor.

Richard D'Aquila, professor in medicine-infectious diseases in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Howard Taylor Ricketts Professor of Medicine.

Francis Giles, professor in medicine-hematology/oncology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Johanna Dobe Professor Hematology/Oncology.

Daniela Matei, professor in medicine-hematology/oncology and obstetrics and gynecology-gynecologic oncology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Diana, Princess of Wales, Professor of Cancer Research.

Kelly Michelson, associate professor in pediatrics-critical care in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Julia and David Uihlein Professor of Bioethics.

Aaron Naberprofessor of mathematics in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been named the Kenneth F. Burgess Professor of Mathematics.

Guillermo Oliver, professor in medicine-nephrology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Thomas D. Spies Professor of Lymphatic Metabolism.

Thomas Shanley, professor of pediatrics in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Founders' Board Centennial Professor.

Michael Terry, associate professor in orthopaedic surgery in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Dr. Charles and Leslie Snorf Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Robert Vogelzang, professor of radiology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Albert Nemcek Education Professor of Radiology.
