Leemore Dafny profiled in Bloomberg for work on health care markets

Economist Leemore Dafny cares deeply about efficient government spending. A faculty member in Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, she has big plans to help guide policy in Washington, D.C., according to a new profile in Bloomberg.

Currently on leave from Kellogg to serve on the Federal Trade Commission, Dafny has shown how a lack of competition in health insurance markets drives up premiums. 

With the Affordable Care Act coming this fall, Dafny's research, which includes more than 10 million insured Americans each year, works toward providing consumers more than just two or three coverage options so they could find lower costs and more innovation.
