Rick Bayless to Mark Frontera Fresco Opening

EVANSTON, Ill. --- None other than celebrity chef Rick Bayless will be on hand Wednesday, Jan. 16, when the Frontera Fresco at Northwestern celebrates its official grand opening.

The restaurant in Norris University Center is the first and only Chef Bayless restaurant to exist on a college campus. Bayless will join others at the ribbon cutting ceremony from noon to 12:15 p.m., and then spend the next half hour signing books he has written.

A 12-ounce cup of coffee will be available for just 99 cents from 8 to 10 a.m., and, beginning 11 a.m., the first 500 Frontera Fresco guests will receive a free mini-dessert with any purchase. From 7 to 10 p.m., visitors who buy one taco will get another at half-price.

And if this isn’t enough to lure you, all day Wednesday, visitors to Frontera Fresco can enter to win an iPod Nano and a free lunch for four. Buy any soft serve or yogurt and get two toppings for free.
