Message of Support from President Schapiro

On behalf of Northwestern University, I extend our support and sympathy to everyone affected by the hurricane and major storm that struck the East Coast of the United States earlier this week. As someone who grew up in the New York area, I was truly taken aback to see the extent of the damage there and elsewhere in the stricken areas. 

I know that many of our students, faculty and staff have friends or family on the East Coast, as well as our alumni who live there, who have been affected by this disaster.  Many organizations have mobilized to assist the relief efforts in the affected area. I am certain that our alumni and other members of the Northwestern community will be involved in these efforts and other measures in the days ahead. I urge members of the Northwestern family to join in and support these efforts in this time of need.
