Redevelopment of Norris University Center’s East Lawn to begin this summer

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Thomas Cline, vice president and general counsel at Northwestern University, has received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
The award recognizes individuals who have given extraordinary service both to NACUA and to institutions of higher learning over an extended period of time, whether in legal or other capacities. Recipients have made outstanding contributions to the work of the Association and to their legal and educational professions.
Cline began working at Northwestern University in 1989 as assistant general counsel. He was promoted to associate general counsel in 1993 and to deputy general counsel in 1996.
He succeeded predecessor Michael Weston as vice president and general counsel in September 2001.
During more than 20 years as a NACUA member, Cline has served on the NACUA board and on numerous committees, task forces and advisory groups.
Cline graduated with a bachelor of arts in history from Yale University, and he earned a J.D. from Northwestern School of Law.
