Northwestern names new trustees

Northwestern University has named Keech Combe Shetty, Cynthia Livermore and Stephen Reyes to its Board of Trustees.

Meet the newest board members.

Keech Combe Shetty ’99, ’06 MBA

Keech Combe Shetty is executive chair of Combe Incorporated and represents the third generation of family leadership at the company. She oversees a portfolio of global personal care brands. Throughout her career, she has focused on balancing the company’s longstanding heritage with innovation and growth.

At Northwestern, Combe Shetty serves on the Kellogg School of Management Global Advisory Board. She is also an active leader in her industry, serving on the boards and executive committees of both the Consumer Healthcare Products Association and the Personal Care Products Council. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Stephen Gaynor School and on the One Acre Fund Leader Circle. Previously, she served as chair of the Personal Care Products Council.

Combe Shetty, a third-generation Northwestern graduate, earned an MBA from Kellogg and a bachelor’s degree from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.

Cynthia Livermore (’13 P)

Cynthia Livermore is a retired garden designer. During her professional career, she collaborated in the management of an architecture firm while designing gardens for architectural projects and independent residential landscapes. Today, she remains actively engaged in philanthropy and community service.

At Northwestern, Livermore serves on the Board of Advisors of the Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs. She is also active in several nonprofit and civic organizations, including the San Francisco Opera, the Berkshire Foundation, where she serves as treasurer, the Marin Garden Club and the Woodside-Atherton Garden Club. Previously, she served on school committees, held elected office on the Ross School Board, coached and managed youth sports teams, and supported community improvement initiatives focused on playgrounds, street tree plantings and public gardens.

Livermore holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University.

She comes from a multigenerational Northwestern family. Numerous relatives, including her parents, children, nieces and nephews, extended family members and grandparents, have attended or served Northwestern. Her paternal grandfather was a faculty member at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine.

Stephen Reyes ’13 MBA, ’13 J.D.

Stephen Reyes is president of Reyes Beverage Group, a leading distributor of beer, wine, spirits and nonalcoholic beverages in the United States. As a member of the company’s senior leadership team, he oversees operations across a broad geographic footprint and helps guide the organization’s long-term strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked in Citi’s Investment Banking Division.

At Northwestern, Reyes serves on the Kellogg School of Management Global Advisory Board and is a member of its Full Circle Campaign Committee. He also serves on the board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and on the Audit Committee of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. In addition, he is a board member of Across the Aisle. Previously, he served on the board of the Northwestern Memorial Foundation.

Reyes earned a law degree from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and an MBA from Kellogg. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
