Four faculty members appointed to named professorships

EVANSTON - The Northwestern University Board of Trustees has appointed four faculty members to named professorships.

The faculty members and their appointments are:

Sumitrajit Dhar, a professor in the department of communication sciences and disorders in the School of Communication, has been appointed to the Hugh Knowles Professorship in Hearing Science.

Craig Garthwaite, associate professor of strategy and director of Kellogg’s health enterprise and management program, has been appointed to the Herman Smith Research Professorship in Hospital and Health Services Management.

Darren Gergle, a professor in the department of communication studies in the School of Communication, has been appointed to the AT&T Research Professorship.

Rebecca Gilman, a professor in the department of radio-television-film in the School of Communication, has been appointed to the Van Zelst Research Professorship in Communication.
