Northwestern Announces Professorships

Board of Trustees nominates 8 faculty members to named professorships

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Northwestern University Board of Trustees has appointed eight faculty members to named professorships. 

The faculty members and their appointments are:

Pablo J. Boczkowski, professor of communication studies in the School of Communication, has been named the AT&T Research Professor.

Jonathan P. Fryer, professor of surgery in the division or organ transplantation in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Richard H. Young Professor.

Aggelos K. Katsaggelos, professor of electrical engineering in the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, has been named the Joseph Cummings Professor.

Maciej S. Lesniak, professor and chairman of neurological surgery in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been name the Michael J. Marchese Professor of Neurosurgery.

Harris R. Perlman, professor of medicine in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Mabel Greene Myers Professor of Medicine.

Marcus E. Peter, professor of medicine, biochemistry and molecular genetics in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Tom D. Spies Professor of Cancer Metabolism.

Richard M. Pope, professor of medicine and outgoing chief of the rheumatology division in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Solovy-Arthritis Research Society Chair.

Edward M. Schaeffer, professor and chair of urology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been named the Edmund Andrews Professor of Urology.
