Actors Get a Hand from Zach Braff

Famed alumnus, Hope Abelson Artist-in-Residence leads workshop on campus

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Northwestern University alumnus Zach Braff returned to campus May 6 to host an actors' workshop for current theatre students. More than 100 undergraduates packed the Mussetter-Struble Theater to watch fellow classmates perform scenes from Braff's 2011 play "All New People."

Braff coached a group of 10 actors and actresses selected to participate in the workshop, providing feedback on their performances.

A frequent visitor to Evanston, Braff came back this time as Northwestern's 2013 Hope Abelson Artist-in-Residence.

The famed actor, writer and director known for his work on the TV series "Scrubs" and the movie "Garden State" graduated from the School of Communication in 1997.

Braff shares advice with theatre students: be yourself!
