EVANSTON, Ill. --- A new construction project adding 50,000 square feet to Northwestern University's Technological Institute will begin this spring and impact traffic in that area, according to Facilities Management.
The Tech J wing infill project will provide space for new laboratory research and expanding program needs in the International Institute for Nanotechnology. Plans also include a multi-story atrium and additional office space.
Work begins April 29, 2013, when the contractor installs a construction fence. At that point, all public access between the building's H and K wings on South Tech Drive will be shut down until late 2014.
Trucks will access the Tech loading dock by entering from Sheridan Road down South Tech Drive and exit back onto Sheridan Road. Trucks will not be able to access the loading dock from North Tech Drive.
