NUSAC Spring 2012 Food and Toiletry Drive Extended

EVANSTON, Ill. --- You can help a family in need. Staff and faculty members have the opportunity to donate a box of cereal, a tube of toothpaste, a bag of rice and other non-perishable food and drugstore items to needy families through Friday, April 27, as part of the Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council (NUSAC)-sponsored Spring 2012 Food and Toiletry Drive.

Collected foods and toiletries will help support Connections for the Homeless in Evanston and the Marillac House food pantry in Chicago. For a complete list of sought-after items, visit www.northwestern.edu/nusac/events.html.

Connections for the Homeless serves more than 1,000 people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes in 31 communities throughout Northern Cook County, including Evanston.

Marillac House serves the needs of the poor and working poor of the West Side of Chicago by providing programs and services for children, families, seniors and youth.

Donation boxes located on both the Chicago and Evanston campuses are available during business hours -- from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily -- through April 27 -- in six locations.

Drop off-locations on the Evanston campus are at the front entrance of the Donald P. Jacobs Jacobs Center at 2001 Sheridan Road; the first and ground floors of Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive; and the second floor of the 720 University Place building.

Donation boxes on the Chicago campus are located in the Office of Human Resources in Abbott Hall, 710 N. Lake Shore Drive, and the Wieboldt Hall lobby at 339 E. Chicago Ave.
