  • Advanced data analysis and inference methods

Career

Kalogera is a leading astrophysicist in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration (LSC) and has been a member for more than 15 years. LIGO first detected gravitational waves in 2015, proving part of Albert Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. Kalogera was elected a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in 2018 and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2018 Heineman Prize for Astrophysics by the American Institute for Physics and the American Astronomical Society.
