Career

Aaronson is a neuropsychiatrist with advanced training in the clinical care of those with complex neuropsychiatric conditions. She completed a psychiatry residency followed by a clinical neuroscience and neuropsychiatry research fellowship at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She is a full time employee of the Hines VA and splits time between the neuromodulation service (performing electroconvulsive and transcranial magnetic stimulation therapies) and outpatient clinic. She also serves as the team neuropsychiatrist on the Hines VA polytrauma team. Aaronson is an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Feinberg with adhoc clinical duties in the Consult Liason service. She teaches psychiatry residents and serves as an early career investigator and medical consultant on numerous other research studies.
