Redevelopment of Norris University Center’s East Lawn to begin this summer

With the Evanston City Council having voted last November in favor of Northwestern’s proposal to rebuild Ryan Field, the University is now set to begin the early phases of demolition and construction.
The University plans to begin demolition of the existing stadium at 1501 Central St. as early as the week of Jan. 29. Northwestern continues to work with the City of Evanston to fulfill all requirements in order to begin these activities.
The demolition is expected to take approximately four months.
Community members who have demolition-related questions are encouraged to submit a service request via the City of Evanston’s 311 system.
