On the weekend of June 4, Northwestern students, alumni, faculty, staff and music patrons gathered in Pick-Staiger Concert Hall to celebrate Victor Yampolsky’s final concerts as conductor of the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra. Yampolsky selected Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 for his last time on the podium to conclude his 38-year tenure as professor of conducting and ensembles in the Bienen School of Music.
