Generating trailblazers in business, innovation and entrepreneurship across entertainment, media and the arts, Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises (MSLCE) is bringing script-to-screen industry leaders to campus.

Film and television producers Dan Farah (“Ready Player One”)and Janet Yang (“The Joy Luck Club”), as well as director and producer Sam Bailey (“Brown Girls”) will be featured in the upcoming panel entitled “Greenlight: Idea to Script to Screen” at Northwestern, which will examine how film and television projects are developed, produced and distributed for impact, profit and cultural relevance.

The panel discussion is part of the MSLCE Speaker Series and will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Segal Visitors Center, 1841 Sheridan Road on the Evanston campus.

The panel discussion is followed by a reception. The event is free and open to the public, however seating is limited and online reservations are required.

Laverne McKinnon, producer at K&L Productions and adjunct lecturer at the School of Communication at Northwestern, will moderate the conversation highlighting the strategies the panelists have leveraged in producing content relevant to both local and global audiences.

In an effort to provide entrepreneurial thinkers with the network and tools to shape their futures, the MSLCE brings together creative pioneers with experiences and professional interests from the creative sectors in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and other major cultural hubs

Fostering direct engagement with the rising leaders of the creative industries, Northwestern’s one-year cohort program spans resources across the performing and visual arts administration, film and television production, development and distribution, music production and management, entrepreneurship and technology and more.
