Structural and staffing changes announced for Office of the Provost

Following is a message sent to the Northwestern community.

Dear Faculty and Staff:

I write today to announce some structural and staffing changes in the Office of the Provost, effective December 1. These changes are designed to enhance services and offer advanced support in key areas to faculty, staff and students. At the same time, these changes will help me more actively engage with a wider range of groups and individuals across our community while developing and managing strategic priorities and emerging opportunities.

I have created two high-level positions within the Office: Vice Provost for Academics and Vice Provost for Administration. Lindsay Chase-Lansdale, currently Associate Provost for Faculty, will serve in the former role. Jake Julia, currently Associate Provost for Academic Initiatives and Associate Vice President for Change Management, will serve in the latter. Jake will also serve as my Chief of Staff. These roles are designed to manage daily operations and help set strategic goals. I have also appointed Andrea Bueschel into a newly configured role as Associate Provost for Strategy and Policy and Marianna Kepka as Associate Vice President for Change Management (this position will continue to be a joint report to me and Executive Vice President Nim Chinniah). Additional appointments will be made in the coming weeks to fill the positions opened by these changes.

Everyone in the Office of the Provost looks forward to working closely with you as we continue doing everything we can to realize Northwestern’s research, teaching and service ambitions.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Holloway
Provost and Professor
