EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Northwestern University Board of Trustees has appointed 62 faculty members to named professorships.
The faculty members and their appointments are:
Sandeep Baliga, professor of managerial economics and decision sciences in the Kellogg School of Management, has been appointed the John L. and Helen Kellogg Distinguished Chair.
Achal Bassamboo, professor of managerial economics and decision sciences in the Kellogg School of Management, has been appointed the Charles E. and Emma H. Morrison Professorship of Decision Sciences.
G. R. Scott Budinger, professor of medicine and recently appointed chief of the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been appointed the Ernest S. Bazley Professorship of Airway Diseases.
Charles Camic, professor of sociology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed the Lorraine H. Morton Professorship.
David Cella, professor and chair of the department of medical social sciences in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been appointed the Ralph Seal Paffenbarger Professorship.
Penelope Deutscher, professor of philosophy in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed the Joan and Sarepta Harrison Professorship of Ethics and Justice.
Gary Alan Fine, the John Evans Professor of Sociology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed the James E. Johnson Professorship.
Ezra Friedman, professor of law in the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, has been appointed the Benjamin Mazur Summer Research Professorship.
David W. Gatchell, clinical associate professor in the Segal Design Institute in the McCormick School of Engineering, has been appointed the Charles Deering McCormick Distinguished Clinical Professorship of Teaching Excellence.
Elizabeth M. Gerber, associate professor of mechanical engineering in the McCormick School of Engineering and communication studies in the School of Communication, has been appointed the Charles Deering McCormick Professorship of Teaching Excellence.
Erik Gernand, senior lecturer in the department of radio, television and film in the School of Communication, has been appointed the Charles Deering McCormick Distinguished Lectureship of Teaching Excellence.
William Halperin, the John Evans Professor of Astronomy and Physics in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed the Orrington Lunt Professorship.
Charles W. Hogue Jr., professor and incoming chair of the department of anesthesiology in the Feinberg School of Medicine, has been appointed the James E. Eckenhoff Professorship of Anesthesiology.
