Noyes Street Closed at Sheridan Road March 3-4

Caution urged as Sheridan Road water main work continues at intersection at Noyes Street
  • Water main construction work will require the closure of Noyes Street at Sheridan Road from Thursday until afternoon Friday (March 3-4)
  • Eastbound traffic on Noyes Street to be detoured to Orrington Avenue
  • Parking prohibited on Noyes Street near the intersection of Sheridan Road

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Members of the Northwestern University community are urged to use extra caution and leave extra time when driving or walking on Sheridan Road due to the construction that is ongoing and will lead to the closure of Noyes Street at Sheridan Road Thursday, March 3.

Noyes Street is anticipated to be fully reopened by the afternoon on Friday, March 4.

Noyes Street will be open to local traffic from Orrington Avenue.  Eastbound Noyes Street traffic will be detoured onto Orrington Avenue and back to Sheridan Road.  Pedestrian access will be maintained using temporary crosswalks.

Parking will be prohibited on Noyes Street near the intersection of Sheridan Road during this time to accommodate construction activities at this location.

This is part of an ongoing construction project on Sheridan Road improving water main lines from Emerson Street, just north of the Weber Arch, to Lincoln Street, where Patten Gymnasium is located. 

The project is expected to be completed by late May.
