CHICAGO --- Northwestern University has joined a growing list of major institutions participating in the Chicago Anchors for a Strong Economy (CASE) program, announced Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and World Business Chicago at an event last week. CASE launched in 2014 to encourage Chicago's leading institutions, such as hospitals, corporations and universities, to support local small business growth by creating jobs and economic opportunities in their neighborhoods. The City of Chicago, ComEd and Northwestern Memorial Hospital were first-year CASE members. During the event, Preckwinkle made a special announcement touting Northwestern's joining the initiative, and she specifically recognized Executive Vice President Nim Chinniah for his efforts.
