Items Prohibited for Audience Members at President's Speech

Doors to Cahn Auditorium to open at 11:15 a.m.

Audience members who plan to attend the speech by President Barack Obama at Northwestern University Oct. 2 are urged to arrive early. In addition, a number of items will not be allowed in Cahn Auditorium.

Doors to the auditorium will open at 11:15 a.m. The speech is scheduled for 1:15 p.m., but all audience members must be in their seats well in advance of the start time. Therefore, audience members should arrive promptly and allow time for the screening process.

The following items will not be allowed in Cahn Auditorium:

  • Weapons
  • Umbrellas
  • Bags
  • Backpacks
  • Liquids, including bottled water
  • Signs
  • Sharp objects

In addition, audience members should not bring electronic devices other than phones, and purses are discouraged. In order to make screening more efficient, audience members are asked to bring as few items as possible.
