Woodrow Wilson School Dean Cecilia Rouse to Speak April 8

Prominent economist is IPR’s 2013 Distinguished Public Policy Lecturer

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Cecilia Rouse -- dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and one of the nation’s preeminent labor and education economists -- will deliver the 2013 Distinguished Public Policy Lecture Monday, April 8, at Northwestern University.

“A Conversation with Cecilia Rouse,” presented by the Institute for Policy Research (IPR), will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the McCormick Tribune Center Forum, 1870 Campus Drive, Evanston. Free and open to the public, it will be followed by a reception.

Rouse served in the National Economic Council under former President Bill Clinton. She returned to the White House in 2009, serving as a member of President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers.

An economist with substantial experience in academia and policymaking, Rouse is the founding director of the Princeton Education Research Section. She also serves as a senior editor of “The Future of Children,” a policy journal published by the Woodrow Wilson School and the Brookings Institution.

Rouse is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a member of the National Academy of Education and serves on the editorial board of the “American Economic Journal: Economic Policy.”
