Photography contest for students in celebration of ‘One Book’ Selection

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Enjoy taking photos of Windy City landmarks or Chicago's neighborhoods? To celebrate Chicago and Alex Kotlowitz's One Book One Northwestern book selection, "Never a City So Real," the Dittmar Memorial Gallery and One Book are co-hosting a photo contest open only to Northwestern students.

The first place winner will receive a one-year subscription to Spotify, the digital music service (valued at $120). Second and third prizes are a one-year membership to the Art Institute of Chicago (valued at $50), and a one-year membership to the Museum of Contemporary Art-Chicago (valued at $30), respectively.

Interested students can enter the contest by emailing a jpeg, high resolution black and white or color photo of people or places in Chicago, along with their full name, year in school and photo caption to dittmargallery@u.northwestern.edu by Thursday, May 2, 2013.

Three winners will be selected and all submissions will be displayed at the NU Galleria on the ground floor in Norris University Center from May 6 to 12.

Following the Galleria exhibition, the winning photo will be on display at the Center for Civic Engagement, 1813 Hinman Ave., host of this year’s One Book initiative. The three winning photos will also be on view on the One Book website.
