Sports/Aquatics Center Parking Lot to Close

Parking lot will close Feb. 7 for construction of new multi-use facility

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The parking lot west of the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion/Norris Aquatics Center will be closed starting Feb. 7 when construction of a new multi-use facility on that site gets under way.

The new six-level parking facility being built on the existing surface parking lot is part of a planned major athletics and recreation complex on the north end of the Evanston campus. The new facility will have space for fitness/recreational activities, as well as for clinical services and academic programs.

During construction, signs will be placed in nearby areas directing drivers to alternate sites for parking, and traffic on Campus Drive will be detoured through the current parking lot.

Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the following lots:

  • South of the sports and aquatics center and east of the Frances Searle Building and Cook Hall.
  • East of the sports and aquatics center and the Combe Tennis Center.
  • East of Kemper Residence Hall at the corner of Lincoln Street and Campus Drive.

For updates, go to the Facilities Management website.

The new multi-use facility is expected to open for parking early in 2014.
