Redevelopment of Norris University Center’s East Lawn to begin this summer

The Norris University Center officially commemorated its 40th anniversary yesterday with a Norris-shaped cake and a birthday serenade from student a cappella group Freshman Fifteen. Northwestern President Morton Schapiro pitched in to light the candles and Vice President for Student Affairs Patricia Telles-Irvin helped distribute cake to students, faculty and staff on hand for the celebration.
The birthday party was the last in a series of events recognizing the student center's place in Northwestern history. Watch a slideshow featuring vintage photos from the last 40 years at Norris.
