Enjoy Lunch on the Lake

Northwestern’s free lunchtime outdoor concerts open to public through Aug. 8

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Top-notch vocalists and bands from around the country will provide midday entertainment on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus during Norris University Center’s annual "Lunch on the Lake"outdoor concert series. This year’s guest artists hail from New York, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Illinois.

Free and open to the public, the noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday programs begin June 27 and run through Aug. 8. Weather permitting, the concerts will take place on the lawn directly east of Norris Center, 1999 Campus Drive. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors and held on the ground floor of Norris Center.

Note: Northwestern University will be closed for the (Wednesday) July 4 holiday.

Music lovers have the option of purchasing a barbecued lunch prepared outdoors by executive-level chefs from nuCuisine, the University’s food service, or bringing their own lunch. The "Lunch on the Lake" outdoor menu, which changes weekly, will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, throughout the summer concert series. The $7 full menu will include a choice of an entree, two side portions and a cookie.

Also, nuCusine Fresh Markets will sell fresh fruits and vegetables and more at Norris Center this summer and early fall. The produce, products and selections will vary on each market day, depending on availability. Information related to upcoming fresh markets will be available at www.nucuisine.com.
