‘Breaking Boundaries’ podcast highlights interdisciplinary solutions to global challenges

A new podcast series from Northwestern University’s Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs launched earlier this week seeks to highlight successful collaborations and innovative ideas aimed at tackling complex global problems within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The “Breaking Boundaries” podcast is hosted by Annelise Riles, professor of law and executive director of Northwestern Buffett. The first season is dedicated to climate change ahead of the much-anticipated 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow beginning next week.

“This is a critical moment in time,” Riles said. “The greatest challenges facing the world today, from climate change and food insecurity to poverty and inequality, are large and complex. Now more than ever, sustainable solutions to these challenges require collaboration across borders of all kinds.”
