Former U.S. Treasury official explores how economic response to pandemic compares to 2008

Webinar looks at fiscal packages and Federal Reserve interventions

A webinar hosted by Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management will explore federal economic and fiscal policy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Thursday, May 7, at noon, economist Janice Eberly will discuss the short-term policies enacted by the U.S. Government to support the national economy. According to Eberly, the policies are informed by actions taken at the start of the 2008 financial crisis but go well beyond the previous playbook. She will explore questions about the U.S. economy, recent fiscal packages and Federal Reserve interventions.

RSVP or request interview

Media interested in joining the webinar or who wish to interview Eberly should RSVP online and email Kayla Stoner at kayla.stoner@northwestern.edu.
