Horror film expert available for Halloween

Filmmaker and professor available to comment on the evolving horror genre

There’s nothing quite like a horror movie on Halloween. From “The Ring” to “Get Out,” horror films have become fertile ground for creative experimentation and commentary on race, class and relationships. Northwestern University Professor David Tolchinsky is available to comment on the evolving horror genre, its role as an incubator for experimental filmmaking and all things ghoulish.

Tolchinsky is a screenwriter, filmmaker and co-director of the MFA in Writing for Screen and Stage Program. In addition to teaching courses in the horror genre, Tolchinsky wrote, directed, scored and sound designed a new psychological thriller, “Cassandra.” He can be reached at d-tolchinsky@northwestern.edu or 847-491-2252.

Northwestern has professional television and ISDN radio studios on campus, available for remote broadcast interviews.
