University launches search committee for next Medill dean

Twelve-member committee will start immediately

Northwestern University on Thursday (Oct. 25) announced the formation of a search committee to identify the next dean of the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications.

The committee, which will begin its work immediately, will be chaired by Ed Malthouse, the Erastus Otis Haven Professor of Integrated Marketing Communications. The committee will include representatives from the faculty, the student body, alumni and staff who will identify a slate of candidates.

Provost Jonathan Holloway said the committee will begin its work immediately, and will engage the Medill community throughout the fall to solicit input about the desired attributes and experience of the new dean, and to seek assistance in identifying prospects.

“President Schapiro and I look forward to the process and to receiving the advice and counsel of the committee,” Holloway said.
