Foster Street Closed at Sheridan Road Feb. 24
Caution urged as Sheridan Road water main work continues
- Water main construction work will require the closure of Foster Street at Sheridan Road on Wednesday, Feb. 24
- Parking will be prohibited on Foster Street near the intersection of Sheridan Road
- Foster Street is anticipated to be fully reopened by Thursday, February 25
EVANSTON, Ill. --- Members of the Northwestern University community are urged to use extra caution and leave extra time when driving or walking on Sheridan Road due to the construction that is ongoing and will lead to closures Wednesday.
Please be aware that water main construction work scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24, will require the closure of Foster Street at Sheridan Road. Foster Street will be open to local traffic from Orrington Avenue only.
Foster Street is anticipated to be fully reopened by Thursday, Feb. 25.
Eastbound Foster Street traffic will be detoured onto Orrington Avenue to Noyes Street and back to Sheridan Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained using temporary crosswalks. Parking will be prohibited on Foster Street near the intersection of Sheridan Road during this time to accommodate construction activities at this location.
This is part of an ongoing construction project on Sheridan Road improving water main lines from Emerson Street, just north of the Weber Arch, to Lincoln Street, where Patten Gymnasium is located.
The project is expected to be completed by late May.
