Northwestern Announces Professorships

The Board of Trustees has approved 16 new named professorships

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Northwestern University Board of Trustees has nominated the following faculty members to professorships: 

John Alongi, distinguished senior lecturer in mathematics, to the Charles Deering McCormick University Distinguished Lectureship

Orin Bloch, assistant professor of neurological surgery, to the Khatib Professorship of Neurological Surgery

James P. Chandler, professor of neurological surgery, to the Lavin/Fates Professorship of Neurological Surgery

Jack Doppelt, professor of journalism, to the Charles Deering McCormick Professorship of Teaching Excellence

Jeremy Freese, professor of sociology, to the Ethel and John Lindgren Professorship

Benjamin Frommer, associate professor of history, to the Charles Deering McCormick Professorship of Teaching Excellence

Ann Gunter, professor of art history, classics and humanities, to the Bertha and Max Dressler Chair

Wellington Hsu, assistant professor of orthopedic surgery, as the Clifford C. Raisbeck, M.D. Professor of Orthopedic Surgery 

Carole LaBonne, professor of molecular biosciences, to the Arthur E. Anderson Research/Training Professorship 

Kelly Mayo, professor of molecular biosciences and neurobiology, to the Walter and Jennie Bayne Professorship

Jorge Nocedal, professor of electrical engineering and computer science, to the Walter P. Murphy Professorship

Indira Raman, professor of neurobiology, to the Bill and Gayle Cook Chair

Neal Roese, professor of marketing, to the John L. and Helen Kellogg Distinguished Chair

Derek Rucker, professor of marketing, to the Sandy and Morton Goldman Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies

Laura Schellhardt, lecturer of theatre, to the Charles Deering McCormick University Distinguished Lectureship
