New Home for University Police Evanston

Office moves to 1201 Davis St.

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The Northwestern University Police office in Evanston has moved to 1201 Davis St. on the northwest corner of Davis Street and Ridge Avenue in Evanston, effective Sept. 11, announced Associate Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police Bruce A. Lewis. The office formerly was located at 1819 Hinman Ave. All telephone numbers for contacting the University Police remain the same.

The Parking Office will remain at 1819 Hinman Ave. The University Police Chicago station remains at 211 East Superior St.

The new University Police office located at 1201 Davis St. includes the department’s administrative offices; patrol operations; investigations; emergency services; problem solving team; community service and residence hall security unit; safety and security systems and a new state-of-the-art communications center. The Office of Alumni Relations and Development also is located at 1201 Davis St.

“On behalf of all of the members of University Police, we are extremely grateful to the University administration and all of the staff from the Facilities Management design and construction unit for identifying and designing a space that provides such a professional environment for our department,” Lewis said. 

An official opening of the new University Police office will be held this fall, with tours available for Northwestern and Evanston community members.
